Scholarships
Most families cannot afford the cost of sending their children to school in areas like Asella and its surrounding communities. As a result, the children who don’t attend school leads to them being uneducated and frustrated. These children end up illiterate, unskilled, and spend their time in the streets, getting into trouble.
Bridge for Life firmly believes that education is the way out for these kids and ultimately, the communities where they live. It is our goal to help change the cycle of poverty through educating as many children as we can.
Bridge for Life does this by providing scholarships to send children to school. These scholarships cover the cost of:
At least one meal per day (current mission)
School materials - books, pens, pencils, notebooks, etc. (future goal)
Uniforms (future goal)
Annual health checkup (future goal)
We can’t do it without your help. By creating a scholarship, you can ensure that the illiteracy rate in these communities goes down. An educated community is a community that can be self-sufficient, end poverty, and provide hope for the future.
Scholarship Types
Full Scholarship
A full scholarship provides at least one meal per day for a child attending the Asella City school for the entire school year. It provides students food security knowing they do not need to worry about where their next meal is coming from and allows them to focus on learning. Bridge for Life works with its local partners and the Ethiopian government to ensure the most needy students are served first. Your contribution is a vital step in these kids’ lives and their futures.
A full scholarship is $500 per year per student

Partial Scholarships
Can’t do a full scholarship? No problem. Partial scholarships allow you to support these children at your comfort level. Partial scholarships are also a great way for friends, youth groups, company teams, neighbors, etc. to pitch in together to give more than you could individually.
Partial scholarships can be in any amount $25 or greater. Just select one of our partial scholarship amounts when donating.
